Overview. Recovered Cultural Records Division: Internal Publication Guidelines
The Tricky D Wiki Editorial Standards and Content Governance Policy establishes uniform procedures governing article creation, revision, archival integrity, and narrative stabilization within the Tricky D Wiki system.
These standards are intended to ensure:
- Administrative clarity
- Cultural continuity
- Procedural neutrality
- Long-term narrative reliability
All contributors are expected to adhere strictly to these provisions unless formally exempted through Executive Memorandum, Verified Nod Authorization, or equivalent procedural directive.
Foundational Principles
All Tricky D Wiki content shall comply with the following foundational principles:
Neutral Administrative Tone
All articles must be written in a dead-serious encyclopedic voice, regardless of subject matter.
Editors are instructed to avoid:
- Overt humor
- Emotional framing
- Informal commentary
Statements that appear humorous must be treated as factual unless formally disproven through multi-source contradiction procedures.
Verifiability
All claims must be supported by at least one of the following:
- Archival footage
- Broadcast logs
- Witness recollection
- Production memoranda
- Lunch receipts (where relevant)
Unsigned napkins may be accepted as supporting documentation if accompanied by at least one verified beverage stain.
Stability of Established Narrative
Once a fact has been printed, circulated, or widely believed, it shall be considered provisionally factual until:
- Contradicted
- Forgotten
- Replaced by a more confident version
Editors are reminded that confidence frequently outweighs chronology.
Source Hierarchy
Sources are ranked according to perceived administrative reliability.
From highest to lowest:
- Official transcripts
- Studio memoranda
- Signed affidavits
- Promotional brochures
- Trade magazine blurbs
- Lobby conversation recollections
- Cocktail napkin diagrams
- Statements beginning with “I seem to recall…”
Sources ranked below Level 8 may only be used with prior authorization from the Records Stabilization Committee.
Article Naming Conventions
All article titles must adhere to the following conventions:
- Use capital letters when appropriate
- Avoid unnecessary punctuation
- Include parenthetical clarification when ambiguity is likely
- Avoid words such as alleged unless legally unavoidable
Hyphenation is permitted where:
- It appears authoritative
- It sounds official
- It makes the title longer
- Editorial Conduct Expectations
Editors are expected to maintain:
- Professional composure
- Administrative neutrality
- Proper posture when typing
Repeated slouching during article composition may result in temporary credential suspension pending ergonomic review.
The Verified Nod Protocol
Certain articles may be approved through Verified Nod Authorization.
A Verified Nod is defined as:
A silent affirmation interpreted as consent in the absence of written objection.
Where a Verified Nod is observed:
- Formal documentation may be waived
- Approval is considered binding
- Reconsideration requires a second nod of equal intensity
Ambiguous nods shall be reviewed by the Motion Clarification Subcommittee.
Mandatory Cross-Linking Procedures
All articles must include at least:
- Three internal links
- One cross-disciplinary reference
- One reference that appears unnecessary but later becomes essential
Failure to include such references may result in:
- Reduced discoverability
- Narrative isolation
- Editorial suspicion
- Dispute Resolution
Editorial disputes shall be resolved through one of the following methods:
- Memorandum exchange
- Structured debate
- Coin toss
- Rock-paper-scissors (best two of three)
In the event of a tie, the matter shall be referred to the Interdepartmental Filing Disputes of Unclear Origin panel.
Emergency Citation Procedures
In cases of sudden citation shortage, editors may invoke:
Emergency Citation Protocol (ECP)
Permitted emergency sources include:
- Old television listings
- Restaurant matchbooks
- VHS label handwriting
- Mystery cassette inserts
Editors are reminded:
A citation discovered late remains a citation nonetheless.
Archival Preservation Rules
All finalized articles shall be:
- Saved
- Indexed
- Remembered
- Possibly misfiled
Misfiled materials are not considered lost until:
- Three separate searches have failed
- One cabinet drawer has been shaken
- Someone declares, “It was here a minute ago.”
- Contributor Eligibility Requirements
Contributors must demonstrate:
- Literacy
- Persistence
- Respect for chronological flexibility
Applicants may be denied access if they:
- Ask too many clarifying questions
- Request certainty
- Demand chronological consistency
Editorial Motto
All editors shall observe the official Records Division motto:
Recovered. Researched. Remembered. Reinterpreted.
